Oscar Roland Markel
(b. April 11, 1897, d. Feb. 26, 1971)

Oscar Rolland Markel, 73, of 411 Herick Ave West Wellington, died yesterday morning in the Elms Rest Home following a long illness.

A retired carpenter, Mr. Markel was born in Ashland County 4-11-1897.

Surviving are his wife Bernice (Fry) Markel, 2 sons, Rolland S. and George both of Wellington, 4 daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Biggs of Bradenton Fla, Mrs. Betty Bonewit and Mrs. Anna Kimbler both of Wellington, and Mrs. Lona Mae Paugh of Oberlin, 31 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 5 brothers, Lee, Duff and Jay all of Ashland, Fuller of Port Clinton, and Ross of Nova.

Friends will be recieved in the Curtis E Truman Funeral Home Wellington all day tomorrow.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev J. W. Mellick officiating, burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Wellington.
