Della Fry Baker and George Benton Fry, circa 1940. Della's husband, Cooper, would be killed in 1902 by a railroad train while he was delivering milk in a wagon.

Della Baker would then work as a schoolteacher at the Sherradden School. She taught her own son, Raymond, as well as several of her sisters' children (Flora Ethel Fry Young), including Raymond, Sam, Cora and Earl at Sherraden School. In the 1913-14 school yearbook, Raymond Young was in fourth grade and Samuel Young was in fourth grade.
